Carol Speargas, Counselor

Carol transitioned from a government career in Intelligence to serving full-time in women’s ministry in her church, devoting herself to teaching, discipleship, and counseling. She holds an MDiv from Faith Theological Seminary and completed advanced counseling certificates from Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF). She is also a diligent student of the biblical languages of Greek and Hebrew.

Carol delights in walking patiently and compassionately with others as they journey through the difficulties of living in a broken world. She has experience working with people who are struggling with anxiety/depression, relational conflict, loneliness, grief, singleness, terminal diagnoses, “seasons of life” issues, and spiritual struggles. Carol’s passion as a biblical counselor is to be part of the process of redemptive change in another’s life, enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Carol, widowed in 2009, lives in Gambrills, Maryland with her four Siamese cats. She is blessed with a wonderful son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren who live nearby in Virginia.  In her spare time, she searches out the best trails, wildlife refuges, and national parks to hike and bike with like-minded friends. An avid birdwatcher, she spends time establishing feeder stations and natural habitats in her backyard to attract a wide variety of birds.
