Now Accepting Medicaid Insurance

Life Counseling Center is excited to announce that one of our counselors is now accepting Medicaid insurance.

Esther Smith has counseled with us for the past four years, and recently became licensed as a clinical professional counselor in the state of Maryland. This has opened up an exciting opportunity for her to become a Medicaid provider and begin providing biblical counseling services through insurance.

Esther’s specialty is biblical counseling for adults living with mental illness and chronic medical conditions. In addition to her time at Life Counseling Center, she has worked at several outpatient mental health clinics where she gained experience counseling individuals with significant mental illness. She also has experience with a variety of other common counseling concerns.

  • Chronic pain and illness
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Grief and loss
  • Stress and burnout
  • Relationship issues
  • Abuse
  • Depression and other mood disorders

Esther has described her approach to counseling in this way.

“My counseling approach is relationship based and faithful to Scripture. My counselees tell me that one of my strengths is my ability to listen and care in such a way that they feel safe to explore difficulty topics.

I focus on helping each of my counselees find creative and practical means of managing their mental diagnoses and life situations. But, my own life experience has shown me the importance of searching for more than relief. I desire to help each of my counselees draw on the presence and hope of Christ in the midst of their difficult situations, choosing to live for him, even when relief isn’t forthcoming.”

If you are on Medicaid insurance and think Esther would be a good fit for your needs, you can contact the office at 443-419-3884. You can also contact Esther directly at esmith@chapelgate.org to set up an appointment or ask any questions.

Would you please consider helping us spread the word? We greatly desire to reach those who might most benefit from this new service.
