It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new Executive Director of Life Counseling Center Ministries. A bit of background on me, my wife Jodie and I have been married for 21 years and have three children ages 17, 14 and 10. I am originally from Ellicott City, Maryland and I actually became a Christian when I was in middle school at a Chapelgate Presbyterian Church youth event, which is the church that birthed the start of LCCM. I am an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America and received my Masters in Counseling from Missio Seminary (formerly Biblical Theological Seminary) in Philadelphia. Before coming to LCCM, I worked for a mission’s agency outside Philadelphia and was a counselor at a Christian practice. I also served on the Life Counseling Center board as the vice-chair.
The reason I accepted the call to become the next Executive Director of Life Counseling Center is simple: I am passionate about this organization and what we seek to be and do in every counseling session and training we offer, which is “…to provide people and churches with biblical counseling that is relationship based, gospel centered, and professionally competent.” I have been only on the job for a couple of months but I am blown away by how God is fulfilling this vision through our counselors! God has given LCCM a team of counselors who are passionate about Jesus, his Word, and walking alongside their clients in need with compassion, professional competency and godly wisdom.
If the events of the last several months have taught us anything, it’s that people are hurting and looking for answers to their suffering. God has strategically placed LCCM to be a refuge of healing to those in our community who are hurting. We provide a safe place for folks to process their pain, relational difficulties, and trauma from a Christ-centered perspective. If you are in need of counseling, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help in any way we can.
