Below is an update from Life Counseling Center’s director, Rich Starsoneck.
It is my privilege to keep you up to date on the news and needs of the counseling center. Your investment in the ministry does not go unnoticed and your prayers for us as we seek to care for others are vital to the ministry. This spring we were excited to have the opportunity to bring Pastor Allan Edwards to speak at two workshops on same-sex attraction (SSA). Over 100 people came to each of the workshops and were blessed by Allan’s story as well as his wise insight on how to interact with this topic.
Last month I finished up the final session of Rebuilders. I look forward to re-vamping the curriculum and offering a modified workshop based on the material in late 2016 or early 2017. Please pray for this to serve many who find themselves facing separation or divorce.
Another update I want to share with you is regarding an upcoming sabbatical that I will be taking. Chapelgate has set in place allotted sabbaticals for rest and refreshment for ministry directors. Starting July 1st I will be taking some focused time off during the summer months. I will return to my regular duties again in the fall. We have an amazing team at Life Counseling Center and the counseling services will continue to be available for anyone seeking gospel centered biblical counseling during my sabbatical. In addition, our Counseling Conversations class will be held as planned. If you are a participant in that class I am thrilled to have my colleague Mike Rallo stepping in to teach the July class with Eliza Huie while I am away.
In my letter last March I mentioned our need for prayer regarding hiring an additional male counselor. We have been unable to do this as quickly as we had hoped. Would you continue to pray with us as we search in the midst of greater need now with my sabbatical fast approaching?
Finally would you please consider partnering with us? We all work together for His kingdom and every gift helps defray the operating expenses of this ministry. Each month we fall short and are continually looking for ways to raise awareness of our ministry needs. If you or someone you know has been touched by this ministry and you would like to graciously give back please click the “donate” link on our website or you can mail gifts to Life Counseling Center. All gifts are tax deductible. We are so grateful for each and every gift and see it as the Lord’s provision for this ministry.
Thank you for your friendship. I look forward to updating you again when I return. Until then if there is anything we can do to serve you please do not hesitate to contact our offices.
Working together for His Kingdom,
Director of Counseling
